Dutch braiding

A very well known technique, especially for playing sports, is Dutch braiding. This is basically the same as French braiding, only now you're crossing the strands under. Again a technique I think you should master before trying more difficult techniques.

The technique:

Ideas:

Start a Dutch braid on the side. When you've added in all of the hair, create two strands and start a fishtail braid.

Divide the hair into three and do a Dutch braid in each part. Then pin the braids into a bun with bobby pins.

Start a Dutch braid on the side and braid towards the other ear. When your braid is done, turn the end into a bun. Pin it into place with bobby pins.

Start by doing two twists/rope braids on each side. When you start your Dutch braid, add these twists to the braid for a fun accent.

Leave out two strands at the beginning of your Dutch braid. When you've added in all of the hair, do a ponytail. Create a regular braid out of the loose hair and add these to the ponytail.

A Dutch braid going around the head. This is actually a variation on Prim's braid, only now you're adding in all of the hair.

A Dutch braid with a 4 strand braid, a variation on the French braid to a 4 strand braid.
