Donut buns

Before you ask: no, today's blog post has nothing to do with food! Donut buns are buns made with the help of a so called donut: a sort of big elastic with a hole in the middle. This elastic can be placed over a ponytail (the hair of the ponytail goes through the hole) and this makes it easier to make a beautiful bun.

For the ladies and girls with longer hair it's about more than just the bun. When you've done the basic bun - placed the hair over the donut and put an elastic around it - you usually have hair left. What to do with that?

The easiest ways to do something with that hair, are to twist it around the bun or to braid it and then wrap it around the bun. You'll then pin the twist or braid into place.

Those looking for something different, could try another braid. The bun in the photo for example has been finished off with a 3D round braid. A fishtail braid or a 5 strand braid would also be possible of course. Or how about a challenge by adding in ribbon?

Like always: plenty of choices and options! Which braiding technique would you choose to finish off your bun?
